These are some rules that students are expected to follow while in
the training academy. By following these rules, students
show their respect for their school, their masters, their fellow
students, and themselves.
- All students must bow to
the flags when entering or leaving the workout floor showing
respect for the dojang.
- No talking in class.
The student should raise his/her hand and wait to be recognized
by the Instructor. The instructor should be addressed as "SIR"
or "MA'AM" after the questions.
- No horse play in the
dojang. Proper conduct is expected of every student in or out of
the academy at all times.
- To prevent any injuries, no
jewelry is to be worn in class.
- No gum chewing or eating in
class or workout area.
- Students should keep all
toe and fingernails trimmed.
- Students should answer with
a "Yes Sir" or "Yes Ma'am when given orders by the Instructors,
a "Thank You Sir" or "Thank You Ma'am" when corrected in a
technique. This is a display of courtesy, one of the main
aspects of all martial arts.
- Students awaiting their
class should enter quickly, bow, remove shoes, and walk to the
locker room.
- No shoes (unless official
Tae Kwon Do sport shoes) are to be worn on the training floor.
- Coats and shoes should be
placed in the locker room neatly.
- After using any training
equipment, it should put neatly back in its place.
- While students wait for
class to begin, they should warm up and stretch to prevent
injury and tight muscles.
- Due to asthmatic students and students
with allergies, please do not wear any cologne, hairspray or
perfume and wear unscented deodorant to class.
- Always wear a clean dobok (school
uniform) at all times. It is strongly recommended that uniforms
and school tee-shirts are washed with a perfume and dye free
detergent and fabric softener as to prevent staining and/or
artificial fragrances.
